Every content marketing plan needs three elements, and incorporating these into your content efforts, including your blog or paid advertising, will improve your results. The three elements needed in every content marketing plan are:
– Relevancy: Is this relevant for your target market. How will this be perceived by the people you want to purchase your product or service.
– Quality: Is the content you’re creating far better than what’s out there. To know the answer you have to do research first to see the other content your competitors are creating and determine how what you’re doing is different.
– Consistency: The 3rd element needed in every content marketing plan is consistency. If you’ve created a newsletter, send it out the same time every week or month. Don’t go four months without posting on Twitter. Keep up your content efforts because this lets them know that your business still exists and helps them know when they can expect more great content from you.
Action Step: Use these three elements as a filter for your content marketing plan. Is every piece of content you’re creating relevant, of high quality, and consistent? Sticking to this will help you build a strong audience for your content.
