Increase Views with These 7 Ways to Makeover Your LinkedIn Profile

By December 29, 2015No Comments

LinkedIn profile views can quickly turn into new relationships, business partnerships, job offers, and more if utilized correctly. The hardest part is getting the views in the first place, and then creating a memorable impact on the person who viewed your profile.

If you’re looking to maximize the impact of your LinkedIn profile, a couple small changes, or even a complete makeover, may turn your profile from a useless social media page into a lead and connection generating machine. Here are seven ways to makeover your LinkedIn profile quickly.

Add Media to Your Summary

Your profile summary section is no longer restricted to written word only. Summaries can now include documents, photos, links, videos, or presentations. This allows you to add nearly anything you’d ever want to visually enhance your profile.

Not only does this give you a chance to express yourself and showcase your work, it allows you to communicate with people who prefer a specific type of media over another. You could add a short introduction video to show your personality, include a presentation you created for a speech you gave, or give a link to your best article you’ve ever published.

Publish an Article

LinkedIn’s publishing platform allows you to reach members and beyond by publishing blog posts that then appear front and center on your profile. These articles keep the visitor on LinkedIn and also send notifications to your connections when you’ve published. This is a great way to spice up your profile while engaging your network and others who are interested in the topics you’re publishing about.

Add Photos within Profile Sections

Images captivate us, and we live in a world that tries to captivate us in many different ways. A page full of bullet points and words is not visually attractive enough to keep us engaged. Add relevant images to positions you’ve held, volunteer opportunities, and other sections of your profile.

Frequently Update Your Profile

Keep information as accurate as possible while informing your network when something has changed. When you make updates, your connections are informed, and will often reconnect with you or like the status.

Give Recommendations

By providing recommendations to others, you’ll often receive them in return. Find 5-10 people and write about your positive experience with them. Even if you don’t receive a recommendation in return, every person that views their profile will view your picture and title because of your recommendation!

Add Symbols to Headline & Summary

Headlines are an extremely important part of your profile and what makes someone click on your profile, but few people utilize available icons. You can also use icons in other areas of your profile, including your summary. If looking to spice up your profile with icons, feel free to copy and paste any of the images below.
